Co-Author & Illustrator Bio

JoAnn Sjöstrand grew up in Baton Rouge, Louisiana, the city of her birth.  While attending elementary school, she took private lessons in art, and she continued in art through junior and senior high.  Following high school, she attended Apostolic Bible Institute in Saint Paul, Minnesota.  It was during her time at ABI that she met her husband Don.  Together, they have pastored in Missouri, Illinois, and Arkansas.  JoAnn completed her studies in art at Southern Illinois University.  After graduating and moving to Arkansas, she developed the art program for the Lonoke School District, where she subsequently taught for thirty-five years before retiring.  She has one son, two granddaughters, and two great-granddaughters who are the joy of her life.  JoAnn continues to be active in her local congregation and to create art in a variety of media.
